With the growth of great skateboard parks built by Dreamland, Grindline and others, a large wealth of park-style talent has emerged. Events in the past were either street style/park or vert leaving outdoor concrete parks without a series; the ramps would be built and then taken down once the event was over, leaving nothing behind to skate. Dreamland and Grindline have pushed the progression of skateboarding by building parks for the public to ride for free. Oregon Trifecta ‘05 was the third World Cup affiliated bowl event in Oregon. Thanks to Mark Scott of Dreamland construction; all of the riders; Red Bull, Volcom, Don Bostick, Tom Collins and Dave Duncan of World Cup, Ron Plogger of Lincoln City Parks and Recs, Ken Warner of West Linn Parks and Recs and Steven Stachurski of Chehalem Skatepark - we were able to develop a bowl series to come through Oregon. With each year being a learning experience we have added a few tactics to better next years event. In ’06, Oregon Trifecta will have several production crews to ensure on time starts and smooth event set-ups. To increase local youth/talent involvement, each event will kick-off with a kids’ giveaway jam, with the announcer/judge calling out best tricks and giving out prizes. There will be more heats with fewer skaters per heat. Each heat will start with an introductory run. This enables skaters to have a clean run while keeping the momentum of a jam session. With preparation and passion this next year’s event will be another success.

The Oregon Trifecta will consist of three World Cup Bowl events: The Golden Otter (Lincoln City), The Crown Royale (West Linn), and the Corn Cup (Newberg); each event will have its own awards and points with an Over All Trifecta award.
